Not only can you now attend more movie matinees, you’re also eligible for senior movie discounts. But what else do movie theater chains like AMC, Regal and Cinemark offer the over-55 crowd?

Here’s a look at some of the most popular movie theater chains in the country and the senior movie discounts and perks they provide.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas

This locally owned theater chain originated in Texas but has since spread to areas like New York. It is known for serving dinner and drinks during movies. On Wednesdays, people age 60 and over can purchase tickets at the box office for $6 all day. On Tuesdays, patrons 60 and over can save $3 on local pints of beer.

AMC/Loews Theatres

With 5,325 screens, this is the second-largest movie theater chain in North America. Anyone 60 and over can receive up to 20% off the regular adult admission.

B&B Theaters

This is the ninth largest theater chain in the U.S. with 407 screens in Missouri, Arizona, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida and Texas. If you’re 55 and over you can receive a discount of 35% off any regular adult ticket price.

Bow Tie Cinemas

This smaller, family-owned company has theaters in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and Colorado. It offers around 25% off the regular adult ticket price for anyone 62 and over. They also feature Super Tuesdays (available for any age), when $6 tickets and $5 large tubs of popcorn are available in certain locations. Combine these deals for the best discounts!

Carmike Cinemas

With more than 240 theaters in 36 states, Carmike Cinemas is the fourth-largest movie theater chain in the United States. Anyone 65 and older can enjoy 35% off regular adult ticket prices. Seniors can also take advantage of Stimulus Tuesdays, when $2 candy, $2 popcorn and $2 Coca-Cola products are available for any age.

Celebration Cinemas

Located in Michigan, Celebration Cinemas offers people 60 and older a savings of 20% off the price of regular adult tickets. The theaters also offer early matinee coupons on Mondays, when tickets can be purchased for $7.50 or less. Certain locations also run discounted promotions on Tuesdays and Sunday evenings. Cinemark

Operating 293 theaters with 3,832 screens in 39 states, Cinemark is one of the largest movie theater chains in North America. Anyone 62 or older can receive 35% off regular adult ticket prices. Every Monday, Cinemark also hosts Seniors Day, providing an additional 10% off all showings.

Classic Cinemas

Classic Cinemas is a family-owned movie theater chain in Illinois. Patrons 60 and older can receive a discount of 35% off the regular admission price. The theater chain also offers Senior Cinema days, Wednesdays or Fridays, when seniors pay even less for all shows. Free refills on popcorn and fountain drinks are offered to all patrons, and comfortable zero gravity recliners are featured in select theaters.

Entertainment Cinemas

This is a smaller movie theater chain found in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut where customers 60 and older can find 40% off regular adult admission prices.

Frank Theatres

This chain has more than 20 locations along the East Coast, from Florida to Pennsylvania. People 65 and older can save 25% off the price of a regular adult admission. The theaters also run Tightwad Tuesdays for all patrons, when tickets cost just $6 and a medium popcorn is $2.50.

Fridley Theatres

This is a family-owned chain located in Iowa and parts of Nebraska. People 60 and older can receive a discount of 25%. If you have grandchildren, you can also take advantage of the chain’s free “merchant movies” during the summer.

Georgia Theatre Company

This chain operates 300 theaters in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Virginia. People 60 and older can save 25% off the regular adult admission price.

Laemmle Theaters

This small chain in California has specialized in independent and foreign films since 1938. The theaters run a Senior Wednesdays promotion, for those 62 and older, in which tickets can be purchased for only $5. Popcorn and a fountain drink can also be purchased for just $5.

Landmark Theatres

This particular circuit happens to be the country’s largest for independent films, foreign language cinema, restored classics and documentaries. If you’re 62 or older, you’re eligible for 30% off any regular admission ticket.

Marcus Theatres

This chain operates about 700 screens in Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska. Marcus Theatres runs a Young at Heart promotion for people 60 and older every Friday in which matinee tickets are priced at just $5 before 5:30 p.m.

Marquee Cinemas

This chain is found in Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. It provides a discount of 30% off the regular admission price for anyone 62 and older.

Odyssey Theatres/CineMagic

With locations in Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota, this chain offers 30% off the regular adult ticket price for adults 55 and older. This chain is located in Texas, New Mexico, Alabama and Florida. Most of its theaters offer 30% off the regular adult admission for anyone 55 and older.

Quality Theaters

With theaters in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri, this chain has discounts for people 62 and older in which they can save 30% on regular adult ticket prices. Quality Theatres also runs a Thrifty Ticket Tuesday promotion for all patrons in which tickets can be purchased for just $5. Take a grandchild and enjoy a movie on the cheap.

Regal Entertainment Group

This is the largest theater circuit in the United States, with 6,745 screens in 38 states and the District of Columbia. Anyone 60 and older is eligible for 30% off movie ticket prices.

Showcase Cinemas

These multiplexes are located in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey and Ohio. The chain hosts Senior Wednesdays for anyone 60 and older. Discounted tickets are $6.50, and a popcorn and soda can be purchased for $3.50.

The Grand Theatres

With 20 locations across Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas, this chain regularly offers discounts of 25% off regular adult ticket prices for people 60 and older.
