DON'T This place has a roach evasion in apts and dining room, mold, bats and a sewer gas smell especially in hot weather. Any call coming into the front desk is recorded without informing the caller they are being recorded. One new resident moved in and then back out due to the roaches in about 3 days. There are 2 elevators and the small one is usually down for months. Both elevators were down for 5 days. The fire department had to carry people up to their apt. The management has said they are... only here for the building and not the residents. Examples of this policy includes not caring that the common areas are freezing and making residents use a locksmith instead of having a courtesy officer to let residents in the apt. The corporation is under a bankruptcy. They were behind on the waste management bill so we did not have garbage dumpster pick up. Also, this means if something breaks in your apt they have to ask the corporation if they can order it, so fixing is delayed. They pick and choose what parts of the lease they will enforce depending on whether the resident is favored or not. They monitor who comes and goes for residents. Dogs on every apartment company's restricted dog list are allowed here. A dog was allowed to stay after bitting a dog and human. Neither would occur in a real apt complex. They are an apartment wanna be complex.

great in many ways, lacking in some
So this place is most importantly quiet! You won’t hear your neighbors blasting rap music till 4 am here, thankfully… Because they are mostly all over 80yo and in bed by 8. I LOVE living with this demographic, as it’s clean, quiet, everyone is courteous, pleasant and honestly some of the best neighbors I’ve had. You may hear the street traffic and drag races at night, as the door walls and windows are old and poorly sealed (not 3-ply Hurricane windows so not good at dampening noise) so they let... in not only drafts but all the street noise. I did find installing heavy blackout curtains and additional weatherstripping helped with both the draftyness and noise. They, for some reason heat the building to what feels like a humid 80 degrees so even when it’s 60-70 out you’ll need to crank your AC to sleep comfortably. Luckily the cost to do that is included in the flat rate utility plan. The pool is heated to 87 degrees (as of January 2024) from the thermometer reading from yesterday: too hot to actually enjoy IMO. But great I suppose if you find you lack hot water in your apartment like I do.
There are a lot of things to do in the building, bingo, a happy hour with live entertainment and few nights a week that is surprisingly good for a free night “out” without actually going out! There is a shuttle to local places for those that don’t drive, and therapy dogs come occasionally as well…. Many game nights, poker, bingo, other card games, some things I’ve never heard of, movie night, ice cream socials, etc… it’s like a college dorm for the elderly but they have all been so gracious to accept the younger new residents moving in, that it feels like a very welcoming small community here. There are not exactly walking paths as I thought I had seen described, there’s a small road that goes around the property like a U, that’s basically it. But the local area has sidewalks if you want to walk to Publix or the 7-11. It’s a good place to see the shuttle launches, once they clear the tree line they are all actually pretty close by.
My biggest complaint is that our water heater is only 28gal, for a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment, this equals one 13min and 47 second shower until the tank is empty and needs to refill and reheat. For an apartment that is a 2 bed 2 bath, this is by all standards insufficient capacity. Standard accepted calculations would indicate they need a 47 gallon or better water heater (20 gallon per person per shower + appliances that use hot water:

Home Sweet Home
I came from an expensive apartment in Central Florida where the grounds looked poverty ridden, the noise was loud and break ins happened. I have been living in an 2 bedroom independent apartment at Lenox for over 2 months now. I love it here. The grounds are immaculate, there is no noise and I feel very secure with a security guard on the job at night. They have an amazing maintenance staff as well as the front desk and administrative staff. The utility package is awesome! Joining in on some of... the activities, I have started to developed friendships with the nice people who live here. My dog enjoys a high popularity here. I'm so glad I found the Lenox.
