This apartment at first was a nice place to live as a first home. For the most part it was quiet except for a few neighbors on the side that our bedroom was on have been loud. We had lived here for a long time and yes these apartments are affordable, and that is for many reasons. I think Oakwood was built in the 70’s or 80’s and have never been updated. Our apartment I feel like was falling apart. During late summer/ early fall our roof started leaking in the bedroom mainly and the bathroom and... it wasn’t until spring that they fixed the roof, in the mean time they just put a tarp in the attic and on the roof outside. Due to this the apartment having a lot of water damage, there is a lot of dark spots (most likely mold) on the living room wall and ceiling and in the bedroom. Along with this we have had to call maintenance many time for them to come fix a lot of problems in this apartment. Another major problem that we had before the leaking roof is a mouse problem, which maintenance stoped by once and put some traps down and that was it, we had to call an exterminator to take care of the mouse problem and pay them $60 a month for a problem that the apartment should be taking care of, on top of that in the summer month we also have an ant problem, they come in the front door through some cracks in the door. Due to these apartments being old and never updated the windows are terrible metal windows that freeze on the inside in the wintertime to the point that we have had thick ice on the inside of the windows and get very moist and filled with water in the warmer months and of course the insulation sucks to, pretty sure that the heat in the winter and air in the summer just goes right out the window. Also recently they got new owners/management and they care even less. In the winter time you would think I live in an apartment they should clean up the snow, not at Oakwood you are responsible for cleaning your own path, they only clean the path not going up to your apartment. Over all at first we did like this apartment but after living her for many years we are glad we left and live somewhere that does updates. I do not recommend living here, even though the apartment is more affordable, you get what

mean and uncarring
I've lived here now for a couple years and am constantly looking for something else. They don't care if your neighbor is loud or crazy. They don't care if the other neighbor's dog yaps all the time. Their security is a guy in a loud car that leaves it run all the time keeping you awake. The management thinks it's a personal attack if you complain about anything and simply does nothing about it. I was told I could transfer to another apartment and was next on the list. When I checked back I was... told there are no transfers being allowed. She didn't even bother to tell me. Here I was foolishly waiting when it wasn't even going to happen. When I complained she said I was personally putting her down. Psycho

I definitely would NOT recommend!
If I could rate this place even lower I would. Please do not get fooled by the cheap price, as I would also agree it seems too good to be true. Well the price is correct but it is one of those times where you get what you pay for. If you would like your items stolen and have no one care than this is the place. If you are looking for security they tell you its the place, well the truth is they have no security cameras but one trail camera. This camera gets moved to a different location every time... someone reports their car got broken in to, which is quite often. Also they claim they have security "walk" around twice a day. Other words they have two guys that switch on and off from doing this; one of these guys wheelchairs around because he has only one leg. Now maybe its just me but I would assume just about anyone could get away from this guy. Now for the other one, he seems that he would be the culprit that breaks in as he looks like he is on drugs all the time. Now for the office, when you call if you get Courtney she will be very nice but will never be able to help you, as she always says Sue is not and she can answer that for you. Sue is a different story, unless you have nothing but good things to say she is worthless. She has no people skills and will always tell you that she can not answer any questions about your lease you have to contact corporate. I am not sure why they have two people are working in this office because things never get taken care of I assume its because they get free rent if they sit in there. Speaking of sitting leads me to the maintenance aka employee sign guy. This guy is so lazy that he not only put an employee sign up to ensure he got the closest spot to his apartment he drives to each location even if its next door. The reason I am saying this about him is how quick and good do you think the maintenance is if this guy is like this, hint not good at all. Now please do not be fooled by these good reviews as I would bet it is Sue herself sitting in the office putting them online as you can see on apartment guides there was several reviews the same day. Now lets be real with these very few apartments there is no way that many people are commenting 5 stars. I do not mean to be a negative person as I too thought this was a great place but I soon realized when I was locked in that was not the case. If this does not deter you from renting there then I hope the best for you . Enjoy!
