Like me, many residents moved here after selling a house or condo. We had to make hundreds of decisions of what to take to move to the Foresthill Highlands and what to leave behind. It was extremely stressful for us as seniors. We were shown the Community Storage Room in the underground of our building where we could store some seasonal items which helped to alleviate a small amount of our stress. Now we are told that by Dec. 31st, we must give up that space due to safety and liability concerns... and that they might reconfigure this area into individual units available for rent. So what we had before as part of our rent for our apartment is gone without compensating us on our rent fee and in the future we might be able get back by paying corporate even more money! That is so unfair to seniors on fixed incomes who are trying to deal with our ever increasing economy in a daily basis. I feel that you do not empathize with the seniors you are frustrating. Oh your notes to us say you apologize for any inconvenience but your actions prove that you do not really care about us. Is money more important to you than taking care of the needs and well-being of those you claim you value?

Hello Barbara, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that the transition from the communal storage room has been frustrating, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may have caused.
This decision was not made... lightly. Over time, we found that shared storage spaces created significant challenges around resident safety, pest control, and liability. Items stored together in one space increased the risk of transferable pests, created potential hazards, and left the community vulnerable in situations where belongings were damaged or went missing.
To better protect our residents and maintain a safe, high-quality living environment, we have discontinued the use of communal storage rooms.
At some communities, we’ve been able to reconfigure this area into individual, private storage units available for rent, which allows residents to enjoy the benefit of storage in a more secure and controlled manner. We are currently exploring this option for your community.
We understand that change can be difficult, and we truly appreciate your feedback as we continue to prioritize resident well-being, safety, and the value of our communities.

Community Storage Takeaway I live in Building 4. We received notice that you are taking our Community Storage room away from us. This action is forcing us to find and pay for outside storage units because the storage closets assigned to each apartment are inadequate.
