Attic Angel positions themselves as a non-profit with their ".org" categorization, but make no mistake: they are all about making profits. Those who sign life leases immediately accept that they will make zero return on investment (and will in fact be required to accept a 10% loss), even in today's climate with house prices up over 40% in just a few years. Plus, if you change your mind, you can't get your money back until they find someone else to sign a lease for your unit--which currently... takes more than 8 months despite their 2 to 3-year waitlist of residents. And, once they do return your life lease funds, don't be surprised if Attic Angel decides to keep several thousand dollars of it to cover fabricated "excessive wear" costs--even if you have, as we did, written confirmation from their own maintenance staff that everything looked good when you left.
