Maintenance Maintance did a teally good job on our last maintance job. Everything is working really good again.

Not even one month in and I’ve had to request to break my lease. Upon move in, I had no working hot water and had to call after a few days to make sure it got taken care of. A couple weeks in, I get an email stating that the tenants need to rent out weed eaters from the office to maintain their porch areas. This wasn’t mentioned when signing of course, so I comb through the lease. No mention of weed eating or anything. Only mention of patio is “Residents will use care in the cleaning of patios... and balconies and will not use cleaning methods that will annoy or inconvenience any of the other residents and or occupants of the Property.” Which is not clear whatsoever. I went to the leasing office and interrupted an card game between the property management team to try and gain some clarity, but instead the male manager comes out on the defensive, his immediate response being “sorry you read that wrong.” I was appalled that I was approached this way, when I didn’t even approach the office negatively. I was literally sitting down while several adults stood over me raising their voices. I explained to him that the lease should be a little clearer about this sort of expectation from tenants, especially for disabled residents like myself, and his response was “I don’t have to make it more clear.” Then the front office girls snipping back at me when I try to respond to him. It got to the point where I disclosed my disability, then they were yelling about how they didn’t know I had a disability because I “didn’t tell them about it up front.” My disability? Do I need to disclose my medical info? I feel like if he would have approached me with a different attitude and met me at my level, sitting and having a conversation, this would have gone totally differently. Just Okay I appreciate that they were able to get me into an apartment with a large outdoor space in a short amount of time however, upon moving in my hot water didn’t work. Another thing I found out well after I signed the lease was that I would have to take care of my grass and weeds. I’m actually really allergic to grass and have a disability where I can’t work outside for prolonged periods of time.
